Homebound Delivery
Homebound Delivery allows the North Canton Public Library to offer services to homebound patrons residing in the North Canton City School District who are unable to visit the library.
Homebound is defined as being generally confined to one’s residence either temporarily (due to illness or accident) or permanently (due to disability, age, or other mobility issues).
How it Works:
The library’s outreach team selects materials to meet the needs and interests of homebound members. With the member’s permission, a list of borrowed materials will be linked to their account to avoid duplication of materials. Library staff deliver materials to participants and retrieve them at a later date. We work directly with participants to arrange delivery and pickup times.
All overdue fees are waived for this program.
Who Qualifies:
- Any resident of the North Canton City School District who is unable to visit the North Canton Public Library due to a chronic illness, disability or temporary physical limitation.
- If you are a resident of an assisted living facility, NCPL in Motion services are currently available to residents at these North Canton locations:
- Danbury
- Heritage Villas
- Inn at Whitewood
- St. Luke Lutheran Community
- Sanctuary
- The Waterford at St. Luke
- Windsor
We are happy to grow this list to include additional facilities located within the boundaries of the North Canton City School District.

How it Works:
The Library’s outreach team selects materials to meet the needs and interests of Special Delivery program members. Items borrowed via Special Delivery will not be reflected on your traditional library card account. Instead, an account will be created for each user specifically for this program and a list of borrowed materials will be linked to this special library account to avoid duplication of materials. Library staff deliver materials to participants and retrieve them in two or four weeks. Staff work directly with participants to arrange delivery and pickup times.
All overdue fees are waived for this program.
