Craft & Design Tools We Offer
The North Canton Public Library offers a Mini Makerspace including the following items.
Cricut
We offer the use of a Cricut Maker™machine and computer with Cricut Design Space for public use.
- The Cricut Maker has the ability to cut paper, cardstock, wood, leather, felt, fabric, acrylic, plastic, and more.
- Use our Cricut Maker™, mats, Cricut® tools, and the library’s subscription for free. Bring your own materials to cut.
Button Maker
Design your own buttons to pin on a shirt, backpack, or other cloth items.
- Simply print an image on one of our computers or bring your own image to feature on your button. Small (1.25”) and large (2.25”) sizes are available.
- Purchase materials for five small buttons for $1 or four large buttons for $1 at the front desk.
Hot & Cold Laminator
Lamination involves encasing materials in a protective layer to provide durability, resistance to moisture and damage, and a professional appearance.
- Our laminating machine warms up quickly, within 90 seconds. The lamination speed reaches up to 290mm. The machine accepts both 3 mil and 5 mil thick laminating pouches.
- It has both cold and hot laminating modes to meet different types of laminating sheets.
3D Printer
The CR 6-SE 3D Printer by Creality has an Auto Bed Leveling System which is an intelligent leveling system.
- This easy-to-use system positively impacts the quality of the prints provided by the machine.
- Its reliability makes it a great device for library use.
- Submit a design (no larger than 25 MB) to reference@northcantonlibrary.org.
- Pick the print up at the front desk. The cost is $3 per print.
Sewing Machine
Our in-house Brother CS7205 is a computerized sewing machine with a wide table.
- It has 205 built-in stitches, including 55 alphanumeric and 8 one-step buttonholes.
- This machine has an automatic needle threading system and includes 11 different accessory feet.
- Bring your own fabric.
- Our small selection of thread and needles are free to use.
Makerspace at Home
The North Canton Public Library offers a variety of non-traditional circulating items for adult library card holders. The items featured check out for 14 days. A maximum of two Tool Box items may be borrowed per library card at one time.
